Refund Policy

This Refund Policy ("Policy") constitutes a legally binding agreement between you ("you" or "your") and Range Buddy, LLC. ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), governing refunds, cancellations, and credits related to subscriptions and purchases made through the https://www.rangebuddy.app website and the Range Buddy mobile application (collectively, the "Service"). By making a purchase or subscribing to the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Policy.

This Policy supplements our Terms of Service and Terms and Conditions. In the event of a conflict between this Policy and those documents, the terms of this Policy shall govern with respect to refund and cancellation matters.

1. Subscription Plans and Billing

Range Buddy offers the following subscription plans, billed through Stripe or through in-app purchase via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store (each an "App Store"):

  • Monthly Plan: $2.99 per month, with a 30-day free trial for new subscribers.
  • Annual Plan: $24.99 per year (equivalent to approximately $2.08 per month).

All subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled in accordance with Section 2 below. Pricing is subject to change; however, any price change will not affect your current billing period.

2. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Upon cancellation:

  • You will retain access to all premium features until the end of your current paid billing period.
  • No further charges will be applied after the current billing period ends.
  • Your account will automatically revert to the free tier once the paid period expires.

How to cancel:

  • Web subscriptions (Stripe): Visit your subscription management page and follow the cancellation prompts.
  • Apple App Store:Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions on your Apple device, select Range Buddy, and tap Cancel Subscription.
  • Google Play Store:Open the Google Play app, tap your profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions, select Range Buddy, and tap Cancel.

You must cancel at least 24 hours before the end of your current billing period to avoid being charged for the next period.

3. Free Trial

New monthly subscribers are eligible for a 30-day free trial. If you cancel during the trial period, you will not be charged. If you do not cancel before the trial period ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid monthly subscription and your payment method will be charged.

Free trial eligibility is limited to one trial per user. We reserve the right to determine eligibility and to revoke trial access if we detect abuse, including but not limited to creating multiple accounts to obtain repeated free trials.

4. Refund Eligibility

We want you to be satisfied with Range Buddy. The following refund terms apply:

4.1 Thirty (30) Day Satisfaction Guarantee

If you are not satisfied with your subscription, you may request a full refund within thirty (30) days of your most recent payment. To be eligible:

  • The refund request must be submitted within 30 calendar days of the charge date.
  • You must not have previously received a refund for the same subscription within the preceding twelve (12) months.
  • There must be no evidence of abuse of this refund policy, including but not limited to repeated subscribe-and-refund cycles intended to obtain free access to premium features.

4.2 Billing Errors and Unauthorized Charges

If you believe you have been charged in error or without authorization, contact us within sixty (60) days of the charge date. We will investigate and, if we confirm the error, issue a full refund.

4.3 Service Unavailability

If a material portion of the Service is unavailable for a continuous period of more than seven (7) days due to circumstances within our reasonable control, you may request a pro-rated refund for the affected period.

5. Non-Refundable Items

The following are not eligible for refunds:

  • Subscription fees for billing periods that ended more than 30 days before the refund request.
  • Partial billing periods (subscriptions cancelled mid-cycle remain active until the period ends but are not pro-rated for refund).
  • Charges where the subscriber has substantially used the premium features and there is evidence of policy abuse.
  • Third-party fees, including payment processing fees charged by Stripe, Apple, or Google, which may be deducted from any refund where applicable.

6. In-App Purchase Refunds (Apple & Google)

If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, refunds are subject to the respective App Store's refund policies:

  • Apple: Request a refund through reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple processes these refunds at its sole discretion.
  • Google: Request a refund through the Google Play Store or at Google Play Help. Google processes these refunds at its sole discretion.

We cannot override or modify refund decisions made by Apple or Google for purchases processed through their platforms. If your App Store refund request is denied and you believe you are entitled to a refund under this Policy, contact us directly and we will review your case.

7. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund for a web (Stripe) subscription, contact us at support@rangebuddy.app with the following information:

  • Your full name and the email address associated with your account.
  • The date and amount of the charge.
  • The reason for your refund request.

We will acknowledge your request within two (2) business days and resolve it within ten (10) business days. Approved refunds will be credited to your original payment method within five (5) to ten (10) business days after approval, depending on your financial institution.

8. Refund Method

All refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase. We do not issue refunds by check, cash, or alternative payment methods. If the original payment method is no longer available (e.g., expired card), we will work with you to find a reasonable alternative.

9. Account Termination and Refunds

If we terminate your account for a violation of our Terms of Service, you are not entitled to a refund for any remaining subscription period. If you request account deletion, your subscription will be cancelled but no pro-rated refund will be issued for the remaining period.

10. Chargebacks

Before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or credit card company, we strongly encourage you to contact us first at support@rangebuddy.app. We are committed to resolving billing concerns quickly and fairly. Filing a chargeback without first contacting us may result in suspension of your account pending resolution of the dispute.

11. Modifications to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the updated Policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.

12. Consumer Protection Rights

Nothing in this Policy is intended to limit or exclude any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws, including but not limited to the laws of your state or country of residence. Where applicable consumer protection laws provide greater protections than those set forth in this Policy, those laws shall prevail. Residents of the European Union, United Kingdom, and other jurisdictions with mandatory refund rights may be entitled to additional protections.

California residents: If a complaint is not satisfactorily resolved, you may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, California 95834, or by telephone at (800) 952-5210 or (916) 445-1254.

13. Governing Law

This Refund Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New Mexico, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under this Policy shall be resolved in accordance with the dispute resolution provisions set forth in our Terms and Conditions.
